This is the first week the temperatures really went down and it suddenly feels like Fall is really here! Sweater season by Sahrit

I was so excited to open the dresser and get my son’s sweater out that my grandma made for him.

This sweater gets me really excited and I’ll explain why.

I’m 32. And since I was 11 I wanted to learn how to knit. No one in my family knitted or crocheted but my mom knew how to start my stitches and teach me basic knitting so I started my first scarf.

That first scarf took me 7 whole years to complete. Yup 7! Full story on that another time πŸ™‚ anyways, for years I wished I had grandmas that liked knitting and crocheting just cause I was so into that and wanted to have that fun cozy crafty feel time together πŸ™‚ even got a bit jealous at times when my friends told me about their talented grannies that taught them how to knit/crochet.

In my 20’s I learned to hear that my grandma did knit but she hasn’t touched yarn for ages. I have been telling her for years she should get back to it. It’s funny that I ended up making her a few things instead of it turned around πŸ™‚

I was so so happy to hear that once my sister and I discovered we were pregnant she suddenly decided to pick up the needles again and make us each something. It means a lot to me. Now that sweater season has begun he gets to wear his new made-with-love sweater πŸ™‚

Share your story how you learned how to crochet/knit πŸ™‚
